Requirements

Requirements for using mobile devices successfully for the online identification function

Not every mobile device can be used for directly reading or as a card reader. The following requirements for NFC technology must be supported by the device:

  1. NFC
  2. Extended Length Communication
  3. NFC chip: sufficient field strength
  4. Android version 5.0 (upwards) / iOS version 13.1 (upwards)

Automatic check if NFC is available

AusweisApp2 contains an automatic check of NFC capability that tells you whether your mobile device has NFC or not. If the test is negative, a Bluetooth card reader or a suitable Android smartphone or iPhone can be used as a card reader.

Overview mobile phones and tablets

Hint:

After a successful authentication with your smartphone or tablet, you can use the app to report your mobile device.
We regularly add further test results and useful information such as the installation of the NFC interface to the list.
There may be deviations from this list due to different operating systems / firmware or changes made by the user.
Please ensure that your mobile device is correctly connected to the NFC interface so that you can perform the readout process.
