Change PIN¶

You can set and change your personalized PIN in the PIN management.

Hint

Prior to using your ID card for the online identification, you have to replace the five-digit transport PIN Transport PIN with a personalized six-digit PIN. More information can be found here: Set your personalized six-digit PIN with your transport PIN.

Note

The dialog PIN management depends on the card reader used. In case you use a comfort card reader with its own keypad and display look here: Change PIN with comfort card reader.

Enter PIN¶

The dialog expects three entries from you:

First enter your current PIN und confirm the dialog. If you did not set a 6-digit PIN prior you have to Switch to the transport PIN entry. You will find your transport PIN in the PIN letter of Bundesdruckerei.

Now enter your new personal six-digit PIN into the new dialog and confirm it. Please note the displayed notes regarding the secure choice for a PIN.

Enter your new personalized six-digit PIN again and confirm the dialog.

Entered PIN wrong twice

When you have entered your PIN wrong twice, you have to enter your Card Access Number prior to a third attempt.
