Steps to use the online identification function¶

When you call the online identification through a service provider’s website, AusweisApp2 automatically shows the dialog page “Identify” in the foreground.

Meaning of fields¶

At the top you find the purpose of the service and information of the service provider. Use the button “More” to see the authorisation certificate of the service provider.

In the middle section you can see the data being transmitted during the online identification. Fields not greyed-out are optional and can be unchecked.

At the bottom you enter your 6-digit PIN. Only when the PIN has been entered, will the button “Identify now” be enabled. By clicking on it, the online identification process is started, your ID card is validated and data is read out.

Hint

How the PIN has to be entered, depends on your settings and the card reader:

If your card reader does not have a keypad, you enter the PIN on your computer keyboard or via On-screen keyboard.
