Change PIN

You can set and change your six-digit PIN in the Change my (Transport) PIN section.

Hint

Prior to using your ID card for the online identification, you have to replace the five-digit transport PIN Transport PIN with a six-digit PIN. More information can be found here: Set your six-digit PIN with your transport PIN.

Note

The dialog Change my (Transport) PIN depends on the card reader used. If you are using a comfort card reader with its own keypad and display see here: Change PIN with comfort card reader.

Enter PIN

The dialog expects three entries from you:

  1. Open Change my Transport PIN ändern of the AusweisApp2.

  1. Click the button “six-digit PIN” if you know your six-digit PIN. If you have not set your six-digit PIN yet you have to set it first by using the Transport PIN. You can find the Transport PIN in PIN letter of Bundesdruckerei.

  1. Enter your current PIN and confirm the dialog.

  1. Now enter a new 6-digit PIN into the new dialog and confirm it. Please note the displayed notes regarding the choice for a secure PIN.

  1. Enter your new personalized six-digit PIN again and confirm the dialog.
