Start AusweisApp2¶

Start AusweisApp2 as follows:

Open Finder and choose folder Programs

Double-click on row AusweisApp2

The AusweisApp2 icon is displayed in menu bar (see next figure).

Clicking on the AusweisApp2 icon in the menu bar reveals menu entries to call the user interface or exit AusweisApp2. Click on “Open” to call the user interface.

On the first start you will be guided through the AusweisApp2 by the Setup assistant. After completing the setup assistant and after every subsequent start, you will see the following screen:

You can choose from the following menu items

If a proxy has been configured on your system that requires credentials, you will be asked for the credentials when starting the AusweisApp2, as shown in the following figure.

If you enter the correct credentials, they will be stored temporarily as long as the AusweisApp2 is running. If you cancel the dialog, you will be asked to enter these credentials again once the AusweisApp2 requires an internet connection.
