Language selection¶

The language of text displayed by the AusweisApp2 can be changed by clicking on either the flags or the buttons. On first stat the AusweisApp2 detects the system language automatically. If used with a german operating system the AusweisApp2 will choose german, when encountering any other languages the AusweisApp2 will choose english. Only english and german are supported languages. After the user sets the language for the first time the automatic language selection will be deactivated.

UI settings¶

You can switch to the old user interface in this version. This functionality will be removed in the next version

Behaviour¶

Start AusweisApp2 automatically
If selected, the AusweisApp2 is started automatically at your computer’s startup. If not, you have to start AusweisApp2 prior to the identification process manually.

Close after authentication
If selected, the user interface of AusweisApp2 is closed automatically after the use of the online identification.

Hint

This will only close the user interface. The AusweisApp2 can still be started via the symbol in the taskbar.

Use internal notifications
Messages will not only be displayed in the operating system messaging system but also in the app itself if checked. A bell symbol will be displayed on the upper right-hand corner. Clicking the bell will show a list of the last messages. When receiving a new message the list will be shown for a short time and the bell will turn green to indicate that a new message is available.
