Start AusweisApp2

Click on the Windows icon at the bottom on the left.

Navigate to folder AusweisApp2 in the WIndows start menu. Click to open folder and select AusweisApp2

Once you have started AusweisApp2, its icon is displayed in the Windows system tray as shown in the next figure.

Hint

The* Windows system tray* is at the bottom on the right of your monitor. There you will also find the clock and information about your system as well as program icons to access programs currently not displayed separately.

By double-clicking on the AusweisApp2 symbol in the Windows system tray you can show the AusweisApp2 interface.

On the first start you will be guided through the AusweisApp2 by the Setup assistant. After completing the setup assistant and after every subsequent start, you will see the following screen:

You can choose from the following menu items

If a proxy has been configured on your system that requires credentials, you will be asked for the credentials when starting the AusweisApp2, as shown in the following figure.

If you enter the correct credentials, they will be stored temporarily as long as the AusweisApp2 is running. If you cancel the dialog, you will be asked to enter these credentials again once the AusweisApp2 requires an internet connection.

Hint

“The AusweisApp2 icon is missing. What can I do?”

If the AusweisApp2 icon is not displayed in the Windows system tray, you can Show AusweisApp2 icon in Windows tray.
